Axos360
San Diego Full Body MRI Scan: Early Detection for Better Health
OUR APPROACH
AXOS 360
Axos 360 is San Diego's premier full-body MRI screening program offering a well-rounded, comprehensive full-body MRI screening that combines efficiency and thoroughness.
Nearly every organ in the body is best screened by MRI, therefore, we scan the entire head, neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis. We take dedicated images of the brain, and optionally the brain vessels and entire spine. Also, as an option we utilize robust analytical techniques from Cortechs Labs to measure the volume of nearly 100 regions of the brain.
The only exceptions are the lungs and heart which are best imaged by CT, therefore, we acquire a low-dose chest CT to exclude pulmunary malignancy. Optionally, we add coronary artery calcium scoring.
We offer three different packages based on the level of analysis you wish to achieve.
Basic Brain imaging includes the images acquired from the whole body MRI.
Advanced Brain imaging includes dedicated images of the brain, brain MRA (MR Angiogram) and Cortechs Neuroquant analysis.
What does the Axos360 Full Body Scan detect?
Our comprehensive screening analyzes major organs for tumors, inflammation, and abnormalities:
Head & Neck: Brain aneurysms, tumors, and sinus issues.
Abdomen: Liver (fatty liver/cirrhosis), Pancreas (cysts/tumors), Kidneys (stones/masses), Gallbladder, and Spleen.
Pelvis: Ovaries/Uterus (women), Prostate (men), and Bladder.
Spine (Neuro Package): Herniated discs, spinal cord compression, and degeneration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a full body MRI safe?
Yes. Unlike CT scans which use radiation, MRI uses radio waves and magnets. It is completely safe and radiation-free, making it ideal for elective annual health check-ups. If you select the 360 Plus package you will also obtain a low-dose chest CT which utilizes minimal radiation.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. The Axos360 is an elective wellness screening. You can self-refer and book an appointment directly with u
Does insurance cover full body scans?
Generally, insurance covers diagnostic imaging when you have symptoms. Because full body scans are "preventative" or "elective," they are typically not covered by insurance. However, we accept HSA/FSA cards and offer financing.
How should I prepare for my MRI appointment?
Preparation is simple. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing like a cotton t-shirt and sweatpants without metal zippers or buttons. Please leave jewelry, watches, and hairpins at home, as metal can interfere with the magnetic field. You can usually eat and drink normally before your exam unless your specific scan requires fasting (we will notify you in advance if this is the case).
How long does it take?
Our standard scan takes just 30 minutes, while our comprehensive Neuro and Plus packages take 60–70 minutes.
What is the difference between 1.5T and 3T MRI?
The "T" stands for Tesla, the unit of measurement for the magnet's strength. Our Escondido location features a 3T scanner, which is twice as powerful as the standard 1.5T. This allows your doctor to see ultra-fine details in nerve tissues, joints, and the brain that might be missed on lower-strength machines.
"Very nice and helpful personnel. We were seen almost as soon as we came in for our appointment. I will recommend Axos to my friends."
